Epic first entry is epic

So apparently I'm about to post my first entry onto Dreamwidth. It feels an awful lot like LJ, only with more benefits (FUCK YEAH FINALLY MORE ICONS!) and it's prettier I might say. If anyone knows more benefits, please share :)

I'll go dick around this site a wee bit more to explore and discover. Yay!

It has expandable cut tags! I.e. when someone uses an LJ cut you can click on it and read it on your f'list without it taking you to the entry page.

ALSO, you can grant people access without having to "friend" them back. Which is excellent if your journal is friends-locked.

ALSO, the people who run Dreamwidth aren't giant douchebags who hate fandom. (Did you know LJ recently removed the "/" as a possible character in tags? So no more Sherlock/Watson.)

ALSO, it lets you import all your LJ posts/interests/icons/tags/comments with just a few clicks. (Organize > Import Content)

ALSO, I am super thrilled you're here. ♥

Let me repeat this: LJ HATES FANDOM. Because it's messy and we do things that are dodgy, copyright-wise, and fandom is a hard thing to sell to advertisers. Conveniently forgetting of course that a significant part of LJ's userbase (and paid account income) is fandom-based.

But whatever. I'm grateful to them for being douchebags. More love for DW!

(edit) Oh, btw: you can automatically crosspost DW posts to LJ. In case you left any friends behind on LJ that you'd like to keep in the loop. ;)

Why the bloody heck did it take me so long?!
Haha, god knows. Better question: what's keeping everyone else?? I love DW. The staff is super friendly and they're constantly working to improve the site - and unlike LJ, when they add new features they ask the users if they want them first. How fucking cool is that?

Yes, they would (unless they'd buy a paid account immediately). I don't know if you'd have any, but if you do, they're under "Invite Someone" on the main page just left of your default icon.

I have six invites left that you're welcome to copy/paste onto LJ:
TBXRX3QJHSD3AAAACB4K

C4HST3S8FTGGCAAALFU6
KRB9W94GPBSNVAAALFU7
CRPGHCQFB26MZAAALFVA

And lastly, there's [site community profile] dw_codesharing, where people dump their spare invites for people to snag. :)

Spotted you on the Latest Things page, which is one of my favorite boredom-killing features.

Getting rid of inactive people. LOL!
That's definitely a huge advantage!
